UTA Music Practice Rooms Use Agreement Spring 2026

The UTA Department of Music is working diligently to provide safe access to the practice rooms. Use of the practice rooms is a privilege, and to be able to keep them available for students that don’t have any other place to practice, there are some rules and requirements. We are able to track who has accessed the practice room and when. If there is an issue with rules and requirements not being met, those not following the guidelines will lose their privileges to use these shared spaces.

Conditions to be met before practice room access will be given:

- Be a current UTA Music Major, music minor, a non-major enrolled in one of the Music Department ensembles, enrolled in piano class or elective lessons.
- Certify that you understand that it is your responsibility to follow the rules and responsibilities of using the practice rooms.
- Access to specialized rooms (Percussion Rooms, FA 222, Grand Piano Rooms, Bass Room, Brass Closet, ensemble rooms, etc.) MUST be submitted IN WRITING with approval from a faculty member.

Responsibilities of the student while using the practice rooms:

- Be respectful of the provided equipment, and other students. Only use the time you need, allowing others to have time as well.
- If belongings are left in an unoccupied practice room for more than 10 minutes a faculty or staff member may remove the items and bring them to the office.
- Brass instrumentalists are encouraged bring their own puppy pad or towel to empty their instruments onto. PLEASE DO NOT EMPTY ONTO THE FLOOR.
- Remove all trash and personal belongings when you are finished with the practice room.
- Ensure that the door is shut completely when you leave. DO NOT let someone else into a practice room, everyone needs to swipe in so we can track access.

To access the practice rooms you need your student ID card and your university assigned 5-digit PIN number.
