Managing Diversity and Inclusion in Organizations (MDIO) Undergraduate Certificate

The MDIO Undergraduate Certificate will provide students with an in-depth look at diversity in areas such as race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, age, disability, and family status among individuals, organizations, and society from a business perspective. The MDIO certificate equips students with knowledge and skills related to developing and managing diverse applicants, employees, customers, and constituents.

The MDIO certificate requires 9 credit hours, which can be completed in conjunction with an existing undergraduate degree in any field. Students must complete the appropriate prerequisites before enrolling in program courses.

Admission Requirement: Undergraduate students must remain in good standing at UTA (with a minimum UTA GPA of 2.0). Non-degree seeking students must have gained admission to UTA.

Grade Requirement: The COB requires a cumulative 2.50 or better GPA for all MDIO certificate courses. A minimum of two B's and 1 C must be earned to reach the required 2.50 GPA in certificated coursework. Grades below a C will not be accepted.

Federal Title IV Regulations: These regulations require UTA to ensure that Title IV Federal Student Aid is not awarded for coursework outside of a student's degree plan. To ensure compliance, the COB is required to identify courses that may apply towards a certificate but do not satisfy course requirements on your selected degree plan. The Office of Financial Aid will review enrollment each term and notify students if a reduction is made.
