POLICY INFORMATION
Two approved internships (maximum of 6 credit hours) may be used to satisfy an advanced business elective for eligible students. If an advanced business elective is not available, the internship may be used to satisfy an advanced major elective. If neither are available, the student may still participate in an internship; however, the course credit will not satisfy a degree requirement.
Internship experiences must be approved in advance by the appropriate department Internship Coordinator and must provide clear evidence of substantial educational experience in the business subject area for which credit is being sought.
More than two internships may be completed; however, only two (6 hours) will satisfy a degree requirement.

ELIGIBILITY
* Must be a UTA student with a declared major in the College of Business.
* Must have an Overall UTA GPA of 2.25 or higher.
* Must have a Business GPA of 2.25 or higher.
* Must have a Major GPA of 2.25 or higher.
* Application must be completed and approved by the appropriate Department Internship Coordinator prior to beginning work in the internship.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS
* Must work a minimum of 150 hours during the fall/spring/summer semester. *For Acct majors, must work a minimum of 240 hours during the fall/spring/summer semester.
* Payment to the student for work is not required.
* Meet all internship course requirements as defined by the department internship coordinator for which credit is being sought.
* Grade is pass/fail.

APPLICATION PROCESS
The internships class is available in the Fall, Spring and 11-week Summer semesters.
1) Find/secure an internship in your field. (Resources: Lockheed Martin Career Development Center, professors, etc.)
2) Submit the Undergraduate Internship Application form 1 (this form).
3) Your degree plan will be reviewed by the COB Undergraduate Advising Office for eligibility and to determine whether the internship will satisfy an advanced business elective or advanced major elective.
4) You will be notified in your UTA email if your form has been approved or denied within 3-5 business days.
5) If Form 1 is approved, a link to Form 2 will be provided to you. Complete Form 2 and email it to the Department Internship Coordinator.
6) The Internship Coordinator will review Form 2. If approved, the department will enroll you in the class within 3-5 business days.
7) Begin internship work. Please note, all forms must be completed and approved by the appropriate departments prior to a student beginning internship work. Credit cannot be given for work completed prior to gaining all required approvals.
